What does it cost?

Re-enactment can be an expensive hobby. In the 30eme, however, we have done all we can to keep the cost under control.

Below are two equipment lists. The first is basic equipment we issue to you on, or shortly after, joining us. This is very basic stuff which is enough to get you on the field in respectable campaign gear. The second list is items which you can acquire over a period of a year or two as you can afford them. Prices are shown for both lists, but equipment in the first list is normally provided from depot and you don't have to buy it unless you wish to.

Items on the second list are those we would normally expect you to buy for yourself. Those in italic are ones which we make in-house, the rest are ones which have to be brought from outside suppliers and where we thus have less control over the prices. Items of kit on the second list shown in blue are those which we would expect you to have brought by the end of your first year with us.

There are also some non-kit costs which we expect members to pay;
Shotgun license (if over 16) c.£50.00
Napoleonic Association membership; £20.00 (family membership £25, junior £12)
Regimental sub £7.50 per month (10months / year, total £75.00)

Note that the sub covers powder, flints, helps towards the cost of depot kit & the period camp, and covers NA membership after the first year. It is a figure per family, and does not apply if you are not in full time work (although we would then expect you to pay your own NA membership.
Food is provided at most events; we ask for a £2.50 contribution per day towards the cost of this.
